15 January - 23 March 2011. Amsterdam's Photography Museum presents Kosmos, an ingenious exhibit by Joris Jansen, recipient of the prestigious photographic award, the Steenbergen Stipendium in 2009.

Although the exhibition concept revolves around one old analogue photograph, Kosmos does not feature the photograph itself; rather Jansen uses images and words to analyse the information contained therein, and focuses on the actual base materials employed in the creation of the photograph.

Using microscopic images in which the chemistry and grain are magnified hundreds of times, Jansen presents an abstract artform unrecognisable from the original image.
