John Silver prints exhibition.

25 May-15 August. Colourful and evocative prints by Kenyan artist John Silver are on show in a solo exhibition at Lange Dwars in the mediaeval town of Gouda in the western Netherlands.

Born in Kenya in 1973, Silver lives in the small town of Ruiru north of Nairobi and works out of a studio in the GoDown arts centre in the industrial area of the capital. He also holds regular art workshops for disadvantaged children living in slum areas near his home and studio.

He will be present for the first fortnight of the Gouda show, during which time he will hold print-making classes with Dutch artists and talk about art and culture and the recent post-election violence in Kenya.
