Irving Penn

21 Sept-29 Jan. The Grand Palais marks the centenary of the birth of important 20th-century photographer Irving Penn with the first major retrospective of the American artist’s work in France since his death in 2009.

Organised in collaboration with New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Irving Penn Foundation, the exhibition examines Penn's 70-year career and includes more than 235 photographic prints, all produced by the artist himself, as well as a selection of his drawings and paintings.

Penn is best known for his fashion photography but he also worked across a range of genres including portraits, nudes and still lifes.
