29 Dec 2005-26 Jan 2006. At the Caf Teatre Lliantol on the last Thursday of December and January, American comedian, Rachel Arieff presents her one-woman extreme-cabaret act, with original songs, comic monologues and a strong dose of audience participation. Described by Barcelonas Metropolitan magazine as The mutant love child of Britney Spears and Richard Pryor on speed, Arieff performs in English and Spanish after just one year in the Catalonian capital. Biting social satire, bawdy musical numbers and generally barmy behaviour make her shows a memorable experience. The Caf Teatre Lliantol, which opened in the late 1970s, has remained unchanged, retaining its bohemian, yet sophisticated charm, and now regularly hosts two more of Arieffs brainchildren: The Anti Karaoke Evenings and Open-mike night as well as jazz and folk evenings. How to be Happy All the Time is a full-frontal assault on Americas perception of the world as seen by an American abroad. Admission 12/6 Doors open 22.45 Performance 23.00-00.30.
