21 October 2009 - 31 January 2010. Herbert Boeckl (1894-1966) is one of Austria's most well-known 20th century painters. His work encompasses most painting genres, from portraiture to nudes, landscape to still life and religion to mythology. Likewise his journey through art movements: his early career is dominated by expressionism, followed by an exploration of realism in mid-life before settling finally on abstraction.
