28 May-11 June 2006. Hosted by the Roland-Garros stadium, the French Open is one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, attracting around 500 top international players annually. Star players include last years French Open champion Rafael Nadal, who is returning to form after an injury early in the season, Roger Federer, Marat Safin and Nadia Petrova. This year the French Open is to award equal prize money to male and female champions for the first time. Winning singles players will each receive 940,000. The Tennis Legends Trophy special event is to be played 6-10 June. Tickets 67.50-8. Matches start at 11.00.
