Degas, Danse, Dessin. A Tribute to Degas with Paul Valéry

28 Nov-25 Feb. The Musée d'Orsay marks the centenary of the death of Edgar Degas (1834-1917) with an exhibition based around the writings of his friend, the writer, poet and thinker Paul Valéry (1871-1945).

Their 20-year friendship resulted in Degas Danse Dessin, an essay by Valéry about his friend, published in 1937.

Displaying Valéry's notebooks and documents alongside Degas' drawings, the exhibition provides insights into the painter's personality and creative process, as well as the social interaction shared between the two friends.

Tue-Sun 09.30-18.00. Thurs 09.30-21.45.
