25 Oct-2 Nov 2006. The first edition of Copenhagen Music Week organized by the Copenhagen tourist board sees live music concerts and DJ sessions in venues across the Danish capital. The programme includes British heavy metal sextet Dragonforce (26 Oct), velvet-voiced Cape Verde songstress Cesaria Evora (27 Oct), Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith and his band (28 Oct) and German guitar legend Uli Jon Roth (2 Nov). Other events include Clubbinhagen, a two-day mini-festival featuring DJs and the latest in live electronic music at K.I.B. (27 & 28 Oct), and the At the Turntables interactive exhibition at the Danish Design Centre focussing on the design and evolution of DJ culture from Jamaican dub to Detroit style house and New York hip hop (25 Oct-2 Nov). During the festival, Wonderful Copenhagen Tourist Information will be transformed into the Copenhagen Week Info Centre. Tickets can be purchased directly at event venues. Admission various.
