24 Aug-3 Sept 2006. Scandinavias biggest food festival, Copenhagen Cooking, returns to the Danish capital for its seond edition, with luxury food exhibitions, prizes for organic produce and top chef competitions among the many events on offer. The Tivoli Gardens hosts the fairs Food Festival, with wine and beer tastings, regional specialities, organic produce and open kitchen demonstrations. Other events include the Swedish Lobster Party (24-25 Aug), the Big City Picnic (27 Aug) at the Nature Centre at Vestamager and a special dinner at the Carlsbergs House Brewery, Jacobsen (31 Aug & 1 Sept). Students from the Copenhagen Hospitality College make Danish open sandwiches to go (1 & 2 Sept) while the Farmers Brunch at three selected Copenhagen cafes is followed by a guided tour of a local farm conducted by the farmer himself (3 Sept).
