28 Oct-1 Nov 2006. 130 chocolate makers from countries world-wide including Belgium, Canada, Japan, Russia, Italy, Switzerland and Syria exhibit their wares at the Paris Expos 12th edition of the Salon du Chocolat. Exploring the cycle of chocolate production from the cocoa bean to the chocolate bar, the exhibition also features a fashion parade of chocolate-covered outfits daily at 16.00. This years theme is the Four seasons of chocolate, with recipe demonstrations, tastings and conferences, as well as a childrens chocolate cookery school (11.00-19.00 daily). The Chocolate Awards will go to eight chocolatiers in four categories and will be presented on 30 Oct at 16.00 following a public tasting. This year also sees the participation of a number of producer countries including the Ivory Coast, Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and, for the first time, Mexico, represented by the State of Tabasco.
