24 March-14 May 2006. The Haus der Kulturen der Welt hosts an exhibition of photographs and video works by 48 contemporary Chinese artists focussing on the rapid social and cultural changes currently underway in China. Traditional opera performances and experimental solo interpretations by stars of the Chinese Opera are to be held in tandem with the exhibition. Other events include performances of avant-garde Chinese music by the Ensemble Modern, readings of modern Chinese authors and an international symposium on cultural memory. A section entitled Celluloid Revolutions featuring the latest in Chinese cinema runs 27 Apil-14 May. Admission 5-3. Exhibition admission 3-2. Tues-Sun 12.00-20.00.
