10-20 February 2011. Each year the Berlinale screens some 400 films most of which are world or European premieres.

Divided into various categories, the Berlinale includes international movies in Competition, independent and art-house productions in Panorama, childrens' movies in Generation, German cinema productions in Perspektive Deutsches Kino, world films and experimental forms in Forum, a diverse selection of short films in Berlinale Shorts, and a thematic Retrospective and Homage to the legacy of a renowned cinema personality.

In addition to being one of the world's most significant movie events, the Berlinale International Film Festival is the city's largest annual cultural event, attracting one of the world's largest film festival audiences and over 19,000 film professionals from 128 countries.
