14 March-18 April 2008. This year Banlieues Bleues is in its 25th edition and offers the public a great occasion to celebrate music. This artistic and cultural event is much more than a simple blues or jazz festival and lights up 17 cities of the Paris suburb, Seine-Saint-Denis, which was originally mainly residential and then became a much more lively area, thanks to the festival and the creation of the Stade de France. 46 musical groups and 350 professional musicians, coming from all over the world, take part in 30 evening performances. Two thirds of the performed pieces are unpublished works.
