This is the 25th edition of Madrids annual contemporary art event, which attracts art professionals and visitors from all over the world. 250 galleries of avant-garde, modern, contemporary, emerging and experimental art are taking part, with paintings, sculpture, installations, photography, video and new media art on display. Art magazines and alternative editions can be found in The Written Word section of the fair, while Cityscapes offers the latest artistic productions from big cities worldwide, including Tokyo, Beijing, New York and Rio de Janeiro, selected by a group of international curators. There is also a New Territories section featuring experimental art from young artists (under 40s). Austria is the special guest country this year, with over 20 Austrian galleries participating. Conferences, panel discussions and workshops accompany the exhibitions. The fair is held at the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I (IFEMA) in Halls 7 & 9.
