15-20 May 2007. Now in its third edition, the Amsterdam Literary Festival directed by Pip Farquharson is the only English-language literary festival held in the Netherlands. While the programme remains predominantly British, this year the festival also showcases the work of international poets and writers based in Amsterdam as well as hosting authors from Turkey (Elif Shafak), the USA (Pete Jordan), Denmark (Sandi Toksvig) and Iran (Kader Abdolah). Participating British writers include legendary performance poet John Hegley; Bedfordshire-born Toby Litt presenting his new novel
