10 March - 7 June 2009. In this exhibition the Belgian Comic Strip Center celebrates the global rise in popularity of Japanese comic art.

Known as Manga, this art form is highly respected in Europe and continues Japan's powerful artistic tradition first begun in the late 19th century when Parisian Impressionists were so greatly influenced by Japanese art.

For over twenty years, Asian comic strips have challenged western comic art, breathing new life into a what had become a staid medium.

Featured comic strip artist and "Mangaka" Jiro Tanigushi is internationally acclaimed and is the author of "Akira". This exhibition is both interesting and fun.

Open every day (except Monday) from 10.00 - 18.00
