Paris is to have another 300 mobile phone antennas placed across its rooftops, after the mayor approved the installation of antennas from mobile operator Free on 50 public sites and 250 buildings.

Free will be the fourth mobile operator in the city and has until January 2012 to go live with its network. Paris residents have raised doubts about the need for yet more antennas because of the potential health risks and are currently fighting the mayor
