The beleagured HD Ferries is in more trouble after a collision Saturday evening 28 July in Jersey harbour with a vessel of its competitor service Condor Ferries. This is the second collision that HD Ferries has had with a Condor vessel while manoeuvring in the harbour since it started service between Jersey and France in March of this year. HD Ferries has suspended all sailings until Tuesday 31 July.

In another incident in June the engine of one of the HD Ferries vessels was seriously damaged when it tangled with what was thought to be a lobster pot off the coast of Jersey. Since then in has been running late on almost all its scheduled services between St Helier in Jersey and the French port of St Malo. Only last week the company had to announce that it could not bring its Jersey-Alderney service into operation in August as expected because the damaged engine was taking longer than expected to repair.
