A metro line costing Dkk 15 billion is to link the sterbro, Nrrebro, Frederiksberg, and Vesterbro areas of the Danish capital. However the Frederiksberg council has refused to pay the costs of the new line through its neighbourhood, so a meeting has been held between the mayors of Copenhagen, Frederiksberg and the Danish ministers of transport, finance and economy to hammer out an agreement. The aim of planners is the creation of a new subway line by 2015 to carry up to 300,000 passengers daily. If an agreement can be reached it may also finance a four-lane highway connecting the Lyngby motorway to north Copenhagen harbour.
