On 17 November Jersey, Guernsey and the other Channel Islands switch to digital television. Those who only have analogue sets are being advised either to get a digital converter for their old sets, to get the digital signal through a Freeview system or satellite system or to buy new television sets.

There are several help schemes available for the elderly, the visually impaired, the immobile and those in care homes. A team from the UK is visiting the Channel Islands for several days in October and November to give help and advice about the switch, which will affect about 50,000 homes.
