South of Westminster Bridge and home of the Florence Nightingale Museum, Lambeth Palace, the Museum of Garden History, the Imperial War Museum and the Globe. It is also the centre of many of London's top hospitals, theatres and art galleries. The housing in the neighbourhood consists mainly of apartments, some newly built, in 10 to 12 storey buildings. There are very few of the typical two to three-storey English houses. Public transport is good and traffic is reasonable, probably because Lambeth is within the Congestion Zone (where you must pay to enter by car). Not many commercial shops. Waterloo Station is one of the main railways stations for the south of England.
