Shakespeares tale of the star-crossed lovers and their feuding families inspired Prokofievs powerful score which, combined with the colourful Italian renaissance setting, has made this Royal Ballet production choreographed by Kenneth MacMillan one of the most popular works in its repertory. The roles of Romeo and Juliet are shared by nine pairs of Royal Ballet principal dancers, including Tamara Rojo with Carlos Acosta, Mara Galeazzi with David Makhateli and Miyako Yoshida with Federico Bonelli. Conducted by Mikhail Agrest and Martin Yates and designed by Nicholas Georgiadis. Admission 84-5.
