4-28 Oct 2005. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays this month the Ashmolean Museum is holding lunchtime talks covering a wide variety of subjects. Starting on Tues 4 with Tea, Coffee, Chocolate the programme continues on Tues 11 with Costume in Portraits. Weds 12 sees A celebration and farewell to India followed on Fri 14 by Oriental influence on Contemporary Ceramics. Symbolism in Western Art is explored on Tues 18 and on Weds 19 there will be an Introduction to Walter Sickert and the Camden Town Group. Tues 25 sees a talk about the museums history with The building of Cockerell's Ashmolean, followed on Weds 26 by Cosmetics, Dress & Jewellery in Ancient Egypt. The last talk of the month will offer participants an Introduction to Impressionism on Fri 28. Talks start at 13.15 and last 45 mins. Admission 2.00
