Vienna extends resident parking zones

Residents’ parking is to be extended in Vienna to the 12th (Meidling), 14th (Penzing), 15th (Rudolfsheim and Fünfhaus), 16th and 17th (Hernals) districts in October.

Residents in the 14th district may also park in the overlapping zones of the 15th and 16th districts; those in the 15th also in the 14th and 16th, those in the 16th in all other zones, those in the 17th may also park in the 16th.

Residents living in these areas may already apply for their permits, which must be displayed on their vehicles. The area around Stadthalle is not included in the scheme.

Parking times are from 09.00-19.00 on weekdays, with no restrictions on weekends and public holidays.

The extension of the parking scheme follows the introduction of residents’ permits in the central areas of Vienna at the beginning of July.

Fees for permits depend on the zone but go from about €90 to €120 a year, plus administrative fees.
