The Spanish Olympic and Paraolympic Committees (COE and CPE) in conjunction with the Madrid regional government have launched an anti-racist awareness campaign supported by top Spanish sportsmen and women. The local and national press as well as radio and television are giving free space and air-time to the campaign 'Di no al racismo en todas las lenguas' (Say no to racism in any language), which uses sport to represent the values of solidarity, participation and unity. Well-known sports stars taking part in the campaign free of charge include footballers from Altletico and Real Madrid, basketball players, athletes and paraolympic swimmers. The local government will be distributing around two million packs of black and white chewing gum used in the TV ads as an anti-racist symbol to sports clubs, service stations, shopping centres and restaurants across the city.
