French President Macron tests positive for covid-19

French President Emmanuel Macron tests positive for covid-19.

The announcement was made by the Elysée Palace on Thursday, 17 December. The French President will go into self isolation for seven days.

As soon as the first symptoms appeared a test was performed and resulted positive.  Macron "will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely", the French Presidency added in a statement.
