ZERO: Let Us Explore the Stars

The Stedelijk presents an exhibition documenting the international avant-garde artists’ group, ZERO, half a century after it became the first major museum to highlight the movement.

The innovative artists’ group, which was known for its pioneering approach to materials and media, came to recognition during the post-war era of the 1950s and 1960s.

The group's young and optimistic artists shared a common desire to create fresh, new ways of making art, incorporating elements of fire, light, movement, space, demonstrations and performances into their experimental work.

The exhibition features pieces by artists who helped define the movement, such as Armando, Heinz Mack, Henk Peeters, Otto Piene, Jan Schoonhoven, Günther Uecker, Lucio Fontana, Yves Klein, Piero Manzoni, Jean Tinguely and Yayoi Kusama.

Tues, Wed 11.00-17.00, Thurs 11.00-22.00, Fri-Sun 10.00-18.00
