17 May-16 July. Barcelona's Casa Asia gives cinema fans the chance to enjoy some Chinese contemporary cinema with a series of independent films from directors like Chen Kaige, Zhang Yuan, Jia Zhangke and Zhao Ye.

The programme of films includes productions that document the history of recent Chinese experimental cinema as well as offering insights into daily life in contemporary China through the stories of individuals who live in the new urban centres and rural areas of a rapidly-changing nation.
