Toni Catany: Back and forth

20 April-17 July. The work of self-taught photographer Toni Catany (1942-2013) has been labelled variously as “classical”, “traditional”, “neopictorialist” and “nostalgic”. The Mallorcan photographer fits into all of these categories and none, claim the organisers of this retrospective.

From 1960 until his death Catany lived and worked in Barcelona where he photographed still lifes, nudes and landscapes in his timeless style, incorporating 19th-century techniques as well as Polaroid and digital technology.

The exhibition displays more than 100 photographs and examines the predominant themes from Catany's career.
