7 May - 29 August 2009. Temporarily housed in the Museum of Decorative Arts & History in Collins Barracks, the collection of the Natural History Museum is once again accessible to visitors after the closure of the 1857 building on Merrion Street due to renovation work. A large selection of the 10,000 exhibits from Dublin's 'Dead Zoo' continue to fascinate both children and adults. Included are giant deer, giraffe and families of otters, badgers and foxes. Also displayed are items from the geological collection, including Ireland's Moon Rock, which was collected in 1972 as part of an Apollo mission.
