The Art of Cartier

24 Oct-17 Feb. The Thyssen-Bornemisza presents an exhibition of over 400 items of jewellery and decorative pieces belonging to personalities such as Grace Kelly, Wallis Simpson, Maria Felix, Coco Chanel and Elizabeth Taylor.

Since 1983 the renowned French jeweller Cartier has been assembling a jewellery collection comprising over 1,450 pieces such as watches, clocks and other precious objects dating from the 1860s to the late 1990s.

The items on show at the Thyssen-Bornemisza include private loans from the Spanish royal family and the Palace of Monaco.

In addition to jewellery, the show features preparatory and production drawings, lifesize black-and-white photographs and plaster casts.
