Sorolla: El color del mar

With the subtitle translating as The Colour of the Sea, this exhibition examines the work of Spanish artist Joaquín Sorolla (1863-1923), focusing in particular on his favourite theme, the sea.

The exhibition highlights Sorolla's interpretation of Naturalism and his use of colour when painting his much-loved seascapes.

On show is a collection of canvases, boards and preparatory notes made at sea, providing an insight into the artist's working methods.

The exibited works come from the Sorolla Museum and the Carmen Thyssen Museum at Málaga, as well as from private collections.
