Renoir: Intimacy

18 Oct-22 Jan. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum focuses on the "tactile sensations" that played a central role in the work of Impressionist painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919).

Examining a range of genres including group scenes, portraits, nudes, still lifes and landscapes, the exhibition challenges the traditional "purely visual" concept of Impressionism by emphasising the sensual side to Renoir's work.

The retrospective presents more than 75 works by the artist loaned from museums and collections such as the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, Art Institute of Chicago, Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Getty Museum in Los Angeles, National Gallery in London and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Tues-Sun 10.00-19.00.
