Newton. Horvat. Brodziak

Helmut Newton (1920-2004) was one of the most influential and controversial photographers of the 20th century, achieving international fame in the 1970s as a celebrity photographer while working for Vogue magazine.

His images were often of a seductive, sometimes gritty nature, and the Berlin photographer favoured working in the street over the studio.

The Helmut Newton Foundation presents around 300 images, in various formats and from different decades, by Newton and fellow photographers Frank Horvat and Szymon Brodziak.

Born in 1928, the Paris-based Horvat belongs to the same generation as Newton and also worked for major fashion magazines throughout his career. Brodziak is a young Polish photographer who, in 2013, was crowned World's Best B&W Campaign Photographer in Cannes.

In 2003, the year before he died, Newton donated a large archive of original photographs to the foundation created in his honour.
