Marcel Broodthaers: A Retrospective

5 Oct-9 Jan. The Reina Sofía Museum dedicates a retrospective to Marcel Broodthaers, who was revered as Belgium's greatest modern artist.

Broodthaers (1924-1976) was a poet, filmmaker and anti-authority artist who often approached his work with a finely-honed literary awareness and keen sense of humour.

His materials were sourced from everyday objects such as sponges, newspapers, eggshells and bricks. The exhibition features some 300 works spanning his career.
