Inside the Station

22 Dec-31 May. "Inside the Station" transports visitors on an interactive journey inside Belgium's Princess Elisabeth Antarctica, the world's first zero emission scientific polar research station.

The exhibition provides an insight into day-to-day life at the station which has been in operation since 2009 and continues the country's century-old tradition of science in Antartica.

In addition to underlining the importance of polar science, the exhibition features the 1898 expedition by Belgian explorer Adrien de Gerlache, and highlights the still-difficult journey for today's scientists from Belgium to the station's location in Utsteinen in Antartica.

The Princess Elisabeth Antartica runs entirely on solar and wind energy, and can house up to 16 scientists at a time.

Mon-Fri 09.00-17.00. Sat-Sun 10.00-19.00.
