Great British Drawings

The Ashmolean draws on its vast trove of art work to present an exhibition of some of the best drawings ever produced in Britain.

On display are more then 100 works, many of them on public show for the first time, tracing the history of drawing in Britain.

The exhibition comprises works by celebrated British artists such as Turner, Gainsbourgh, Alma-Tadema, Henry Moore and Hockney, but also includes Flemish artists working in Britain in the 16th and 17th centuries.

The Ashmolean collection of British drawings and watercolours is one of the world's largest and most important.
