5 November 2009 - 13 May 2010. Dublin is one of Europe's oldest cities, with the first settlement established along the river Liffey over one thousand years ago. For roughly half of this time, Trinity College has been inextricably linked to Dublin, and shares a rich history with the city. The collections of Trinity College Library illustrate the bond between Dublin and its most venerable institution. The exhibition begins with manuscripts from the Anglo-Norman administration, when Dublin became Ireland's capital, and offers glimpses into the citizens' economic, social and intellectual concerns throughout the centuries. Featured Dubliners include scholars, patriots, rebels and politicians, as well as regular 'Dubs'.
