Diane Arbus

22 June - 23 September. The Martin-Gropius-Bau presents a selection of 200 photographs by renowned New York photographer Diane Arbus (1923-1971). The artist's bold style which often rendered exotic that which we consider familiar made her famous, and she was celebrated for her portraits of sitters as diverse as celebrities, children, eccentrics and transvestites. Most of her subjects and subject matter hailed from her native New York City. The exhibition in Berlin displays Arbus's most iconic photographs as well as many that have never before been exhibited to the public. The show also provides an extensive biographical and critical documentation of the artist's life and oeuvre.

Wed-Mon 10.00-19.00. Tues closed.
