Each year a series of summer concerts takes place in Amsterdam. Funded and co-ordinated by Robeco, a financial institution in Rotterdam, the festival has become something of an institution itself.

Always informal and enjoyable, the concerts comprise various categories and are scheduled accordingly. Amongst the different genres showcased are jazz, world music and a Guitar Weekend; the Concertgebouw also caters for children's interests very well.

Previous performers have included German clarinetist Sabine Meyer and Dutch violinist Jaap van Zweden. Built in 1881, the Concertgebouw now enjoys a worldwide reputation.
