Bruegel: Unseen Masterpieces

16 March 2016-16 March 2020. Major exhibition of works by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, the 16th-century Flemish Renaissance painter best known for his landscapes and scenes of peasant life.

The show combines expert knowledge and virtual technology to focus on the unexpected and often unnoticed finer details contained in the artist's work.

Featuring works on loan from major international museums, this long-running exhibition has been organised by the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium with the Google Cultural Institute, ahead of the 450th anniversary of Bruegel’s death, in 2019.
