The Olympic flame will pass through Oxford on 9 July evening on its way to the Olympic Stadium in London for the opening of the Games on 27 July.

Oxford, the birthplace of the famous English athlete Sir Roger Bannister, the first man to run a mile in under four minutes, is one of 66 evening events during the relay of the flame around the UK.

The flame arrives from Greece on 18 May and the 70-day relay starts from Land
