Catalana dIniciatives, a Barcelona-based venture capital management company, is to establish a new dubbing facility in the Catalan capital, bringing together leading film and television companies from Spain and Portugal to form what could be the biggest enterprise of its kind in Europe. Estudios Abaira of Madrid, Grupo Soundtrack of Barcelona, CTV Galaxia of northern Spain and Portugal's Matinha Studio are to be partners in the new venture, which will see 2,000 actors dubbing films and TV series into Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Portuguese. The company is planning to invest 7 million in the as yet un-named facility, and expects a turnover of 17 million this year.
