After a successful trial period, which saw an increase in the number of visitors, the Danish government has decided to make free admission to state museums a permanent fixture. For visitors to Copenhagen museums this means free entry to the Statens Museum for Kunst (the National Gallery) and the National Museum, which includes the Liberty Museum, the Open Air Museum in Lyngby and the Museum of Music History. The free admission applies to special temporary exhibitions as well as the permanent collections. Other museums which offer free entry are the Davids Samling, The Royal Cast Collection, the Told & Skat Museet (museum of customs and taxes) Kroppedal Museum, (archaeology and astronomy) the Vrlse Museum and the Greve museum of local history.
