There have been seven suspected cases of the influenza A-H1N1 in Jersey but all have now been confirmed negative.

The island's health authorities have assured islanders that there is enough stockpiled medicine to treat everyone if there were an outbreak of swine flu.

Extra supplies of antibiotics to treat chest infections have also been ordered, and a helpline is available for any worried islanders.

The helpline on 445566 is operational from 08.30-17.30 Mon to Fri; 10.00-13.00 Sat, Sun and holidays.

The government's website http://www.gov.je also has useful information about details of the disease and the preparations for a possible health pandemic.
