The municipal swimming pool in the southern Brussels district of Ixelles has been classed as a listed monument, the first in the Belgian capital to receive such recognition. Inaugurated on 16 May 1904, the indoor pool on rue de la Natation is the oldest swimming baths in Brussels and, along with the bathing establishments in Saint-Gilles and Schaerbeek, was one of the first communal swimming pools.
