One way or another Wimbledon will always be associated with the famous summer tennis tournament. Only 30 minutes by underground from the city centre, it is a world apart. When you arrive at the station you are immediately thrown into its village-like atmosphere. There is a certain amount of traffic on the wider streets, but the hilly part of the town is much quieter. Classic Victorian houses stand side-by-side with more recent and modern buildings.
